Al-Mu&#8217;tasim Ibrahim Ahmed extended Eid greetings to employees at the Ministry of Energy headquarters in Khartoum. During his address, he reviewed key issues affecting citizens, particularly the stability of electricity and fuel supplies.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The minister emphasized that recent improvements in fuel availability and electricity services were achieved through the dedication and perseverance of ministry staff. He praised their expertise, efficiency, and commitment to national service, noting that the next phase would require even greater efforts to support reconstruction and rehabilitate infrastructure in both the electricity and petroleum sectors.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>He disclosed that the ministry and the Electricity Generation Company had been engaged in discussions and reached understandings with contractors regarding the maintenance and rehabilitation of the Umm Dabakir thermal power stations to improve operational efficiency. He also noted that the integration of the Garri 1 and Garri 2 power stations had contributed to improving electricity supply.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The minister further highlighted international cooperation initiatives in the energy sector, particularly memoranda of understanding signed with Belarus covering transformers and related equipment, investment in the Port Sudan refinery, water resource management in reservoirs, agricultural projects, waste treatment, electricity generation, and solar energy projects.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>He reaffirmed the ministry\u2019s commitment to addressing employees\u2019 rights and concerns to enhance job satisfaction and productivity.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>For his part, Dr. Abdulrafe Babiker, representing the workers\u2019 union, conveyed Eid greetings on behalf of employees to the Minister of Energy and Petroleum, the ministry\u2019s undersecretary, and senior officials. He commended their efforts during this critical period and stressed the importance of continued cooperation and coordination to ensure sectoral stability and support productivity.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Despite ongoing challenges, he said, employees of the Sudanese Petroleum Corporation had continued to fulfill their responsibilities, maintaining operations and demonstrating discipline and dedication in recognition of the vital national role played by the energy sector.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Minister of Energy Eng.
