It reaffirmed its support for any effort that contributes to ending the armed conflict and achieving peace and stability in the country.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Chairpersonship said that, since the outbreak of the Sudan crisis in April 2023, it has sought to bridge differences among Sudanese stakeholders and create a conducive environment for ending the armed conflict by promoting a culture of dialogue and building a shared national vision.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>In this context, the Chairpersonship called for upholding national unity and institutions and working to consolidate a democratic state. It also recommended that consultations include all Sudanese civilian, political, and community stakeholders, based on the principles of inclusivity, ownership, and full Sudanese leadership, in order to ensure the success of the ambitious political process.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Commission stressed that the ultimate goal should be a united and sovereign Sudan that enjoys peace, is governed by legitimate civilian institutions, and has a unified national security structure and effective mechanisms for peacefully resolving political and social disputes.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Chairpersonship said the initiative would contribute to strengthening the African Union&#8217;s roadmap and the track of the Quintet mechanism as part of a coherent strategy led by Sudanese stakeholders.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Chairpersonship of the African Union Commission has welcomed the initiative for Sudanese-Sudanese dialogue to be held inside Sudan under the supervision of an independent committee of respected Sudanese elders.
