He noted that this approach would be accompanied by protective measures, including expanding the network of subsidized sales outlets to absorb the impact of the decision and ease the cost-of-living burden on citizens.

The Prime Minister acknowledged the existence of severe living conditions resulting from the war imposed on the Sudanese people, describing it as “a comprehensive war with economic, political, and military dimensions” that has imposed an enormous financial burden on the state. He added that the government relies entirely on its own resources to support the war effort, without receiving any external assistance.

Idris attributed the sharp increases in inflation rates to the circulation of counterfeit currency and systematic smuggling operations, particularly gold smuggling. He stressed that executive agencies are currently working to curb these practices by deploying joint security teams to combat smuggling and protect the national economy.

On the military and political fronts, the Prime Minister firmly declared that the door to negotiations with the rebel militia had been completely closed, emphasizing that this decision reflects the will of the Sudanese people and is not merely a government decision. He cited the scale of the extensive violations committed by the militia, including the destruction of infrastructure, breaking into homes, theft, looting, and attacks on vital facilities and power stations.

Idris said that the recent escalation in drone attacks carried out by the militia reflects its complete collapse across operational fronts in the face of the significant advances made by the Armed Forces along all fronts. He added that these developments had left the countries backing the rebellion deeply frustrated.

The Prime Minister expressed his profound regret over the involvement of certain neighboring countries in the war against Sudan, specifically naming neighboring Ethiopia. He noted that Sudan had exercised the utmost restraint in response to Ethiopian violations, while emphasizing that the Sudanese Armed Forces are fully capable of repelling any aggression. He also praised the extraordinary resilience of the army and other regular forces in the “Battle of Dignity”.

Sudanese Prime Minister Professor Kamil Idris has announced that the country’s fuel crisis is expected to ease soon, revealing that contracts have been finalized for nine vessels carrying petroleum products, which have already arrived at the port.
