The fighting resulted in the capture of several strategic areas.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Military sources told Sudan Tribune that &#8220;the army and its allied forces, including the Joint Force and groups of popular mobilized fighters, launched military operations from their defensive positions in El Obeid towards areas south and west of the city.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The sources reported that the forces engaged in fierce battles with the RSF, during which they managed to take control of Kazgeil and Al-Hammadi, south of El Obeid, as well as Abu Qudud and Umm Sumaymah to the west of the city.
