{"id":8880,"date":"2023-12-22T18:49:24","date_gmt":"2023-12-22T18:49:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sudanevents.com\/?p=8880"},"modified":"2023-12-22T19:09:40","modified_gmt":"2023-12-22T19:09:40","slug":"sudan-doctors-health-services-in-medani-collapsed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sudanevents.com\/index.php\/2023\/12\/22\/sudan-doctors-health-services-in-medani-collapsed\/","title":{"rendered":"Sudan Doctors: Health Services in Medani, Collapsed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Sudan Events &#8211; Follow-ups<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The preliminary committee of the Sudan Doctors Trade Union announced that all health facilities in Wad Medani, the capital of Al-Gezira State &#8211; in the center of the country, are out of service, a week after the Rapid Support militia (RSF) attacked the city and other areas in the state.<br \/>\nLast Friday, the militia moved the war to the state and invaded the Rifa&#8217;a and Hantoub regions, before storming Medani, committing many violations and repeating the scenes it carried out in Khartoum, Darfur, and in every region its forces invaded in Sudan.<br \/>\nIn its latest report on the situation of hospitals in Wad Medani and the city of Sinnar in the neighboring state, the Medical Trade Union confirmed the martyrdom of two medical personnel following the attack on Rifa\u2019a Teaching Hospital, and the occurrence of widespread looting and sabotage of hospitals in the city of Wad Medani.<br \/>\nIt pointed out that Wad Medani formed a major center for health services throughout the country, after more than 90% of Khartoum\u2019s hospitals were out of service, \u201cleading to a complete and dangerous collapse of the health system.\u201d<br \/>\nThe committee confirmed that 18 government hospitals and four private hospitals were completely out of service, meaning that all health facilities were not working.<br \/>\nAs for the city of Sinnar, in the state of Sinnar, adjacent to Gezira State, there are two government hospitals in service, namely the Sinnar Teaching Hospital (accidents and injury department only) and the Kidney and Urinary Tract Dialysis and Surgery Hospital (dialysis emergency cases only), and in the private sector there are also two, namely Al Karama Specialised Hospital and Al Araki Specialised Clinic ( Obstetrics and gynecology emergencies only) &#8211; according to the report.<br \/>\nAccording to the International Organization for Migration (IOM), about 300,000 people fled Gezira within days when clashes broke out there last week.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sudan Events &#8211; Follow-ups The preliminary committee of the Sudan Doctors Trade Union announced that all health facilities in Wad Medani, the capital of Al-Gezira State &#8211; in the center of the country, are out of service, a week after the Rapid Support militia (RSF) attacked the city and other areas in the state.
