Agencies – Sudan Events
Vice President of the Sudanese Sovereign Council, Malik Agar, revealed that the upcoming meeting between the Council President-cum- Army Commander Abdul Fattah Al-Burhan, and the commander of the Rapid Support Militia (RSF), Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo (Hemedti) in Djibouti, will discuss the implementation of what was reached in the Jeddah Agreement.
He said, according to the Arab World News Agency, today (Wednesday), that this includes the eviction of RSF from the cities, residences, and headquarters where they exist, provided that other negotiating stages follow.
The agreement signed by the Rapid Support Commander with the Civil Democratic Forces Coordination “Taqaddum” was considered an agreement between two partners.
Agar confirmed that “a date has not yet been set for the Djibouti meeting, after we were officially informed by IGAD of the cancellation of the meeting that was scheduled for the end of last month.”
He said, “We emphasized our conditions, and said frankly that there will be no negotiations except with the eviction of RSF from the homes, institutions, and cities, including the city of Wad Medani, as well as the cities they occupy in Darfur.”
He added, “In Djibouti, we will discuss the implementation of the Jeddah Agreement, that is, the eviction of RSF from housing, headquarters, service institutions and cities, and this is the agreement.”
He continued, “If that happens, there will be a second, third, and fourth stage, and we still have a period of time to stop the war and another period of time to end it.”
Agar commented on the Addis Ababa agreement signed yesterday by saying: “The signing that took place yesterday is an agreement between partners, as (Taqaddum) and RSF are two partners, and they are one body in two entities, and there is nothing new in that.”
He added, “As for holding a meeting between Taqaddum and the Sudanese government, we have no knowledge of it, and we do not know what Taqaddum is. Is it a political body? We have no knowledge about that.”
He described those who signed the Addis Ababa Declaration with the RSF yesterday as “the well-known political incubator of the RSF, and they are supporters of the RSF rebellion.”
He stressed that they had not received any invitation to hold a meeting with (Taqaddum), and said, “We only heard about it as everyone else heard.”
