Arab Aid to Sudan
Port Sudan – Sudan Event
The barge Abu Simbel (2), carrying 95 tons of medical aid (medicines and medical supplies) provided by the Arab League, Egypt, and Kuwait, has arrived at the northern port of Port Sudan in eastern Sudan.
Dr. Haitham Mohammed Ibrahim, the Acting Federal Minister of Health, stated in a press release that they are receiving this support from the Arab League and several partners, including the Red Crescent and several countries. This support, especially in the health field, has been instrumental in bridging the gap.
Ibrahim expressed his gratitude to Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Egypt, Libya, Qatar, and the donor organisations and entities.
The Egyptian Ambassador to Sudan, Hani Salama, revealed that the ship carries 200 to 220 tons of aid. He emphasised that this joint support, led by the Secretary-General of the Arab League, involves Egypt, Kuwait, and the Red Crescent in both countries and is aimed at 13 states in Sudan under the supervision of President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and the Ministry of Defense.
