Issuing New Commercial Register, launched

The Ministry of Trade and Supply has begun issuing new commercial register and renewing the previous ones, meanwhile the validity period of the new commercial register is one year, instead of two years.
The Ministry of Trade indicated the adoption of new numbers for registers that will be effective as of January 2024, starting with the number (1). This includes new registers and renewals with the aim of creating new database.
According to the new regulations for issuing the exporter and importer register certificate, it is required to submit a number of documents related to the Trade and Supply Investigation Department, in addition to the Commercial Registrar’s Certificate (Arabic + English), the Memorandum of Association must clearly state the objectives and specify the capital, as well as national numbers for all shareholders in the company.
In addition, the application should include copy of certificate of membership in the Chamber of Commerce.
The applicant should also be cleared from the Taxation Chamber and discharge Certificate from Zakat.
The documents also include an account cleared from the bank in the name of the company, provided that the amount is consistent with the capital stated in the Memorandum of Association.
