60% of West Nile Road, Rehabilitated

The Roads and Bridges Authority has revealed that 60% of the rehabilitation work on the West Nile Road in Karary, linking Khartoum State and the Northern States, has been completed, as well as the maintenance and rehabilitation of areas affected by potholes and subsidence of asphalt resulting from rain and excessive loads, which affected vehicular traffic.
The director of the Karary Maintenance Unit, Engineer Khaled Omar Al-Hallab, indicated that more than 60% of the first phase has been completed, which started from the Military College and extends in stages until the Al-Huqna area, which will have a major impact in facilitating traffic and alleviating the suffering of the citizen.
Meanwhile, the Director of the General Projects Department, Engineer/Al-Tijani Yaqoub, confirmed that the first phase of work will be completed on time and arrangements for the second phase will begin immediately.
The Governor of Khartoum, Ahmed Osman Hamza, witnessed the beginning of maintenance work and stressed the importance and vitality of the road, considering it the lifeline of the state and one of the priorities at the present time.
