Nusiba Abdel Qader, a social media activist, published a clip a short time ago about the Kadandaya dance, or the Hasis, which is a dance from the heritage of Dar Hamar, Dar Hamed, and others.
This type of heritage is characterized by a high degree of enrichment, active participation, and enthusiasm from the audience.
Some people sing, others dance, and others clap. Therefore, it is an excellent model of popular art in the Kordofan Valley and its villages. Hissing is also common among our people, the Ma’alia in East Darfur, and the Ziadiya in North Darfur.
This art is also characterized by its dancing rhythm, which makes the occasion more glamorous and splendid and gives every person the opportunity to participate and express themselves in this creative scene.
In general, we can say that folklore or popular literature is linked to people’s lives, as it expresses their activities and feelings regarding the developments of the seasons and seasons that are directly related to their lives; Therefore, harvest seasons are considered in many parts of Sudan; particularly in the countryside, they are joyful festivals accompanied by the performance of many dances and the singing of songs that encourage hard working.
The Sudanese person sings his folk poetry as he draws water from the well in what is known as “Shashay”.
There are songs called “Daq Al-Aish” that men repeat as they pound corn or millet before using the machine in the harvesting process.
All of this is nothing but a sincere expression of man’s emotional connection to place and time.
