Sisi to Support Efforts of protecting Libya’s Unity

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi Thursday received President of the Libyan Presidential Council Mohamed al Menfi at Al Ittihadiya Palace.
During talks with Menfi, president Sisi asserted Egypt’s support to all efforts aimed at preserving the unity of the Libyan territories, supporting state institutions in order to help holding presidential and parliamentary elections, with a view to achieving the interests of the Libyan people and pushing forward the path of stability and development in Libya, according to Presidential Spokesman Ahmed Fahmy.
Meanwhile, the head of the Libyan Presidential Council hailed Egypt’s support to Libya at all levels as well as Libya’s ongoing efforts to reach a national comprehensive reconciliation.
He praised Egypt’s keenness on unifying institutions of the Libyan state, noting that such a matter is indispensable for restoring the country’s stability.
Menfi reviewed the developments of the political scene in Libya and efforts of the presidential council to unify visions of the different Libyan parties.
The meeting asserted the importance boosting the unity and security of the Libyan state, secure the exit of all foreign troops and mercenaries from Libya, continuing to promote the capabilities of Libyan state institutions to enable it to assume its role and complete the path of elections, in order to ensure achieving the will of the Libyan people and its welfare, the spokesman added.
