The Chairman of the Resources Committee in North Darfur State, Engineer Al-Mahi Al Sheikh Mohammed, acknowledged the state’s contribution to the 2024 budget is weak, amounting to 26%, pointing out to the necessity of keeping the budget in its current form, given the weak revenues and irregular disbursement of monthly salaries, as they are factors affecting the budget’s performance, as he put it.

Al Sheikh pointed out during the committee meeting that the Resources Committee had reviewed the collection issue in the localities, and how to exclude some of them from participating in the budget due to the security difficulties .

Al Sheikh stressed the need for its participation in the budget according to the legal document, and to be a basis for working on it during the peace process and to avoid the issue of thinking about preparing another budget.

The Chairman of the Resources Committee pointed out that his committee had recommended the necessity of creating a suitable environment for collecting revenues, auditing financial books and receipts, as well as motivating workers to encourage them and urging them to collect revenues, while providing means of transportation and other basic aids aimed at achieving economic stability, and striving to make a big jump in revenues.
