German Hansi Flick, former coach of Bayern Munich and the German national team, has taken a new step closer to coaching Barcelona.
Barcelona is looking for a new coach after Xavi Hernandez officially announced his departure at the end of the current season.
Many reports have previously stated that Flick is a strong candidate to succeed Xavi next season.
According to the Spanish newspaper “Sport”, people close to Flick revealed that the German coach is particularly enthusiastic about coaching Barcelona.
She indicated that Flick also began searching for coaches who speak German and Spanish, so that they could serve as a link in the event that he was chosen to lead Barcelona.
Reports previously confirmed that Flick had begun the journey of learning the Spanish language.
The Spanish newspaper explained that there are two names now hesitating to join Flick’s staff in Barcelona, namely Oscar Coruscano, who has Spanish origins but is Zamil, the former Bayern coach in the German U-21 national team, and Christian Fell, the current coach of Nuremberg.
