Sudan Events – Rehab Abdullah

Treasurer of the National Chamber of Importers, Hashim Al-Fadil, justified the increase in commodity prices due to the high cost of importing, including the rise in the price of the dollar, in addition to the duties imposed, as customs duties represent 50%, revealing in his speech to (Al-Ahdath) that importers of food commodities incurred a loss of 20% in terms of the fact that the cost price is higher than the selling price, and purchasing power has become almost non-existent because 99% of citizens have lost their jobs and professions.

He stressed the need to develop flexible policies to facilitate imports while setting the necessary controls.

It is evident that the prices of goods have recently increased significantly, which has led to an increase in citizens’ complaints about the high cost of living.
