Sudan Events – Nahed Oshi

The economic expert, Dr. Haitham Muhammad Fathi, confirmed the effects of the continuation of the war in Sudan on the region’s economies and financial institutions, in that Sudan is a major supplier of livestock and live meat, which is one of Egypt’s strategic commodities, as Sudan supplies Egypt with about 10% of its meat needs, considering in his speech to (Alahdath) that Sudan is a gateway for Egyptian exports to the markets of the Nile Basin countries and East Africa, while the Sudanese market is an important outlet for small factories in Egypt, indicating that Sudan occupies second place on the list of the five largest receiving markets for Egyptian exports, with a value of 226 million dollars in just three months. He added that with the continuation of war and insecurity, the volume of trade exchange was affected, which had a negative impact on the Egyptian economy.
