Overcome past Obstacles Sudanese Drama…A new Reality

Sudan Events: Magda Hassan

During the last ten years, with the communications revolution and modern technology, a new reality has been written for Sudanese drama.
It has begun to create its own broadcast outlets and does not depend on one party.
It can be said that it is on its way to overcoming the production complex and the obstacle of one screen.
The Lack
In the past, national television was the only window through which the Sudanese series was broadcast, and due to the difficulty and problems of production, the new series was limited to the month of Ramadan.
One orphan was released, such as (Sweet Bitter) once a year, and with the multiplicity of Sudanese channels, the broadcasting outlets increased, and the production of the series became scarce or vanished, so the production trend began.
To short dramatic series, and various channels were active in producing and broadcasting them.
*Enforced Absence

Radio drama, or radio drama, was the most consistent, as the hearts of listeners were attached to the Ramadan series, and Sudanese radio was always on time with the great actors who, no matter how low their wages, would never say no to their first home, as radio drama is famous for its low costs compared to television, so it maintained its presence throughout the years despite… Circumstances and their current absence constitute a forced absence, due to the war and the diaspora of creative people.
*Presence
In the last five years, Sudanese drama has fallen apart from the traditional media, and production has opened up on YouTube channels, and the channels can broadcast it if they wish. Despite the intensity of private Sudanese drama production, now after the channels, I have reservations about broadcasting it due to the lack of professionalism on the one hand, and its crossing the red lines of some channels on the other hand, and with This led to the entry of new producers, councils, and new actors. Indeed, most of these works originally involved amateur actors, with the participation of some actors. The artist Ahmed Al-Jaqar entered the field of drama in recent years, where he participated in (Sikkat Dhiyaar). (Zanda) and currently (Qadr), as he was able to maintain his Ramadan attendance despite the circumstances and even became one of the producers. Al-Jagr said that he found himself in dramatic work, and despite the war conditions, he was able to record a presence in the Ramadan drama.
*Criticisms
Director and author Haitham Al-Amin, through the new platforms, was able to be present in the Sudanese series during four seasons. His beginning was with (Sikka Lost), then (Wad Al-Mak), then (Parallel World).
He is currently showing the series (Fragile Nerve), and his latest series received a number of criticisms that Haitham defended. In an interview to Sudan Events, it was later published that any work that does not shed light on societal issues and is characterized by realism does not qualify as a dramatic work.
*Disable
Many dramatic works and artistic projects were interrupted by the war during the year, as a series by the Canadian actor Al-Amin and another by the actor Abu Bakr Faisal were not completed, and the latter launched a two-part series (Edge of the Road) on the Habka platform, which contains all of his works, including the famous series (Jibril) and other works.
A job
In addition to all the difficulties present, those working in the field of Sudanese drama work as hard as they can to produce internally or externally.
All those brought together by the circumstances of war in a local city or a foreign country have come together to work, to create, and to produce.
