Economist: The Real Sectors Decline Due War

Sudan Events – Nahid Oshi

The economic and financial expert, Dr. Alallah Abdullah said “The coming period will be about rebuilding what was destroyed by the war, especially after the armed forces were able during the past weeks to record victories in some Sudanese cities, including the city of Omdurman.
He added, “To complete this victory, the government and the executive branch must formulate effective strategic plans in a more appropriate way, by adopting social solidarity economy approaches and mechanisms to restore production opportunities for millions of citizens who have lost their sources of income,” noting the importance of activating participatory microfinance mechanisms and formulating training plans for citizens capable of production.
In another context, Alallah confirmed the effectiveness of canceling the thousand-pound note in contributing to reducing the size of the monetary supply and reducing the money supply, which would lead to a reduction in inflation rates and then a decline in the general level of prices.
He expected, in an interview with Al-Ahdath, to have a positive effect on the exchange rate of the Sudanese pound against foreign currencies, and said that Sudan is currently living in a state of statelessness, which has led to the disruption of revenue institutions for the government and the external sector under conditions that witness a continuous decline in the growth of the real sectors of (agricultural , industrial ) production due to the outbreak of war that was approaching a year.
