Khartoum Begins Removing War Remnants by Collecting (1,700) Explosives and Bullets

Khartoum State has begun extensive consultations and communications with the competent authorities to prepare the liberated areas and make them fit for habitation after the systematic devastation and destruction of housing and service facilities.
The Governor of Khartoum, Ahmed Osman Hamza, held an expanded meeting with the delegation of the National Mine Action Center, headed by Brigadier General Khaled Hamdan and his assistants.
The director of the center explained that since the removal teams began their work in the Omdurman (Wad Nobawi) local area on the 7th of this April until today, (633) explosives and (1,046) ammunitions of various types have been collected, and the work is still continuing, as well as ten other teams will be deployed to speed up the work in Old Omdurman: The next phase is of particular importance as it targets the areas of return of citizens and cleaning them of war remnants as quickly as possible, which requires financial support, technical effort, and coordination with the relevant authorities.
The governor of Khartoum said that removing the remnants of war is a top priority at the present time in preparation for the subsequent stages that require restoring water, electricity and communications services so that citizens can settle.
