US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that his country cannot ignore the horrors of this war.
He added in a speech on the occasion of the first anniversary of the Sudan war, “It is time to work to address the humanitarian crisis, end the conflict, and return Sudan to the right track towards a civilian democratic government.”
He stressed that the war in Sudan displaced more than 8.5 million people over the course of a year, in addition to the fact that 220,000 children in Sudan may die from malnutrition within months without a large flow of aid, according to estimates by humanitarian organizations.
