Japan Supports Cleaning Project in Sudan

Sudan Events – Follow-ups

Japan has provided (15) large-capacity tractors in support of the cleaning project in Sudan, and said that it comes as an extension of early cooperation between the state and the Japanese JICA agency in providing assistance in recent periods, which contributed to the development of the experience.

The Governor of Khartoum, Ahmed Osman Hamza, pointed out the roles of the Japanese ambassadors in Khartoum and their keenness to follow up on the development of the cleaning project and provide support for it, while he praised the role of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and all parties that helped in the arrival of the support, and he expected that these mechanisms would contribute to raising the efficiency of cleaning and increasing the amount of transported waste, especially war waste in areas that have been cleared of the rebel militia, where waste accumulates heavily.

It is noteworthy that the mechanisms of the Khartoum State cleanliness project were subjected to widespread looting, and the project’s machineries were seen in western Sudan after they were used to plunder public and private property from Khartoum State.
