Sudanese Journalists Syndicate Condemns Killing of Journalist Run over by Rapid Support Forces
Khartoum – Sudan Events
The Sudanese Journalists’ Union condemned the killing of journalist Halima Idris, who was run over by a vehicle belonging to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia while performing her professional duties in Omdurman last Tuesday. Halima Idris was working for the Sudan Bokra channel, and her voice was instrumental in calling for an investigation into the incident.
The union stated on Friday that the continued violation of the rights of journalists, including their killings, by the Rapid Support Forces is a matter of utmost seriousness. It called on human rights organisations working in the field of freedom of expression and defending the rights of journalists to condemn the crime and exert pressure to investigate Halima’s killing and all violations.
