Al-Burhan Agrees to Declare a State of Emergency in Khartoum

The Governor of Khartoum, Ahmed Osman Hamza, has revealed that the President of the Sovereign Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Army, Lieutenant General Abdul Fattah Al-Burhan, approved the state government’s recommendation to declare a state of emergency.
The state media reported, on Wednesday, that the governor provided information to the meeting of the Supreme Committee for Emergency and Crisis Management in the state, regarding the issuance of a decision by Al-Burhan to approve his government’s recommendation regarding the state of emergency.
He said that the coming days will witness the issuance of state decrees to implement the state of emergency, and pointed to the approval of the President of the Sovereign Council on the state’s recommendation to deal with the foreign presence that has become a threat to national security, and some of whom are participating in the fighting alongside the “rebel militia.” He added that the state will work in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior. And the refugee delegation to deal with the foreigners’ file.
