The Queen of the Nuba Mountains, Natalina Yacoub, revealed for the first time the truth of her exclusion from the role of (Julia) in the movie Goodbye Julia after she was chosen to perform the role. She revealed that her photos were used to promote the movie, “It is about time to say that they built the success of the film at my expense.” She said.

Stolen success

Natalia Yaqoub, the presenter on Sudanese 24 channel and who holds the title of Miss Nuba Mountains, launched a violent attack on the “Goodbye Julia” movie team. She said in a television interview on Bashayer Al-Nil channel that the producers of the movie “Goodbye Julia” contacted her from the beginning to be the main character of the movie. She said that based on this communication, her photos used in the movie (Iman) were used to promote the beginning of the movie ‘Goodbye Julia’.”
She said that they promoted pictures of her as Iman because she is a well-known fingure through whom they wanted to gain an audience and support, “The worst thing is that a person creates his success at the expense of others.” She added.
Natalia said during the interview that it was the first time she spoke about this matter, but she also did not hide her anger at what happened with her, as she has not received an apology or clarification yet, “I was surprised when I learned that the movie had been implemented because they were communicating with me and telling me that I was the main character in the movie in 2020. Without any introduction, I heard about the new team for the movie, and I have not found a correction, apology, or anything from them yet.” She continued.

Refusal of marginalization

Regarding her reaction at the time, “I had nothing to do, althought I was certain that there were people whose name could still have succeeded, if it were me or others.” She said. “I did not remain silent, rather I said that there is a right time for anything, and now the right time has come to say that it I have been used. My photo in the movie Iman was used to promote Goodbye Julia, and their use of a well-known charachter to reach the people is their opponent.” She said. “They chose me to be Julia because they said I represent her.” She added. Natalia attached her speech to correspondence that took place between them, “They were not in Sudan, and coordination was made until their presence to complete the story.” She said. “I am not going to say that I was shocked because life is a school. Unfortunately, I did not receive any explanation or apology from them, even though the movie discusses issues of marginalization, and they marginalized me for being a student.” She added.

Away from politics
