Amjad Abu Al-Ela, the producer of the movie Goodbye Julia, responded to his name, Natalia Yacoub, Miss Nuba Mountains, as a transgression and marginalization of her by the film family that chose her to play the role of Julia before she was bypassed and another character was chosen without receiving an apology from them. Audition

As for her transgression at work and what she described as marginalization, Abu Al-Ela attributed this to several reasons, “We did not choose her simply because these have been years and we have reached that what is required is a South Sudanese, not a Sudanese. My last message to her was that we would do an audition, and there was never a resolution in the matter.” Abu Al-Ela said. “A year ago, there were social changes for Natalia, from one marriage to another. We had changes in the form of the personality and its requirements, so nothing happened simply.” He added.

Acknowledgment of mistakes

Despite Abu Al-Ela’s justifications for the change, in his response to Natalia, he acknowledged their mistake in not informing her and apologizing to her, “She has a right. We should have informed her and apologized to her.” He explained.
But that did not happen for reasons revealed by Abu Al-Ela, “In general, it was not a nice relationship at all, in the way she spoke with the director and the condescending formula in which she spoke (me, my situation, and my work in the presidency).” He said.
