Sudan: We Reject to Insult the Saudi Leadership

Sudan Events – Follow-ups

The Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has rejected what was reported on social media of severe insults to the Saudi leadership, and language that does not resemble the politeness and respect with which the Sudanese people are known for their brothers, especially the kings, princes and leaders of sisterly countries.
The Ministry said in a statement on Monday that, during the past days, it had followed writings and comments by Sudanese columnists and activists on social media addressing Sudanese-Saudi relations in a way that does not express the true position of the Sudanese government and people towards the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, leadership, government and people, and their keenness to maintain these friendly and strategic relations deep in history of everything that disturbs its peace.
The Ministry stressed that relations with the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are characterized by a distinct character due to the bonds of religion, language, neighborhood, common destiny and mutual interests that bind the two countries and peoples, given that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is the custodian of the Two Holy Mosques.
The Ministry appealed to opinion writers, commentators, and social media activists to stay away from everything that harms the relations between the two brotherly countries and the symbols and leaders of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the brotherly and friendly countries.
