FAO Supports Vaccination of 50,000 Heads of Livestock in Shendi

The Executive Director of Shendi Locality, Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, has launched a campaign by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) to vaccinate and treat livestock, under the supervision of the United Nations Peace Organization.
The Executive Director praised the great efforts of the Organization for Peace and Development and its pioneering role in community service, in addition to transferring ownership of the goat project to vulnerable families. Khaled said that this project contributes greatly to helping families, and the Executive Director directed the Department of Livestock and Social Affairs to carefully investigate the selection of families, taking into account justice in distribution according to the specified standards, and called for the importance of following up and evaluating the project.
While the project coordinator, Rumaisa Al-Sheikh, said that the project targets 50,000 heads for the Shendi and Al-Matama localities and includes 7 types of vaccination and medicines.
Rumaisa announced the distribution of the goat ownership project to 180 families, with 5 goats per family.
