The Acting Foreign Minister, Ambassador, Hussein Awad Ali, held meetings with the Acting Iranian Foreign Minister, Ali Bagheri, on Saturday, in Tehran. The meeting discussed ways to launch strong cooperation between the two countries in various fields, following the recent resumption of diplomatic relations between them and their commencement of opening the two embassies again. It was agreed to expedite the completion of the opening of the two countries’ embassies under the leadership of each other’s ambassadors to contribute to advancing relations between the two countries at a rapid pace to the highest levels. .
Ambassador Hussein Awad conveyed to the Iranian Acting Foreign Minister, Ali Bagheri, the condolences of the President of the Sovereignty Council, the Sudanese government and the Sudanese people on the death of Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hussein Amir Abdollahian and their companions in a helicopter crash last week.
The Minister affirmed the solidarity of the Sudanese government and people with the brotherly Iranian government and people in this painful incident with Iran losing its president, one of its leaders who was distinguished by wisdom and knowledge, and its capable Foreign Minister. He expressed his confidence that Iran will quickly overcome this tragedy by relying on its established and long-standing institutions.
For his part, Ali Bagheri expressed their deep thanks for the strong support and assistance they found following this painful event from the Sudanese leadership through condolence telegrams that carried poignant words expressing the spirit of solidarity and brotherhood, as well as through the current visit of the Foreign Minister, which reflects the depth of fraternal relations between the two countries, which brings reassurance to the hearts of Iranians.
