Sudan Events – Magda Hassan

News spread of the death of the poet Ishaq Al-Halnaqi, or the President of the Republic of Love, as fans of his words call him. In a year of war and death, it is not surprising that any news of the death of one of the creative people, whose number exceeded fifty during this period alone, but it is surprising that the news is incorrect and causes are inconvenient for his lovers, and those around him.

Fame tax

Rumors of the death of the artist came out when he was in a hospital for treatment and were circulated through those close to him, first in the artistic community and spread among the public. Perhaps “the tax of fame” is a phrase that justifies many of the rumors that affect the personal, social and artistic lives of artists and does not stop there, but rather the rumors began to announce the death of an artist who is still alive. The rumor of his death spreads, the news spreads on social media, and the artist’s fans interact on Twitter and Facebook amid the difficulty of verifying false news.
It seems clear that part of the cycle of spreading rumors is also the spread of fake accounts of artists that often promote rumours, in addition to the accounts and channels on YouTube for ordinary people, who try to play the role of citizen journalist in an effort to increase the number of followers and thus also fame, advertisements or media appearance, which is the reason that harm the entire media industry.

Premeditation rumour

The poet Abdel-Wahab Halawi says that it is a premeditated rumour. “What do people want from us by spreading rumors about the death of a singer, composer, or poet?” He wondered. “These days there is a rumor about the death of a great poet, and we wish him a long life. I have received dozens of messages asking about him.” He added.
“No one knows how, when, or why a rumor starts. Of course the rumor has the property of spreading more than the truth. In turn we enjoy the rumor that is spread after it reaches us.” He added. “There is no artist in our country who has not been told that he has died before his death,” Halawi stressed.
“The late friend and artist, Muhammad Mirghani, spoke to me before his death, and when he opened the door for me himself. I was overwhelmed by the conversation. I drank a cup of tea with him and left,” Halawi added. “Al-Kabli also said in one of the rumors of his death, ‘Why the rush to my death?'” He continued. “We have become (the world’s basket of rumors),” Halawi added jokingly. “Death is a fact that will inevitably happens to everyone. You people will kill all of them, and if we die, you will sing instead.” He said.

Practical response

Musician and composer Imad Youssef, in a practical response, announced a new work that brings him together with the poet Ishaq Al-Halnaqi and (Salifi) today.
“Now with the beautiful professor Ishaq Al-Halnaqi and a new patriotic song, if we travel around countries or disappear for ages, tomorrow we will return to you, Sudan.” He wrote. “My wishes to dear Sudan for security and stability. Kindly accept the greetings of Mr. Halangi.” He added.
Imad indicated in an exclusive interview with Al-Ahdath that Al-Halnaqi was very upset by the rumor of his death. “May God bless you people. Tell me what I did to them. All my life I have not wronged or hurt any of them. Why are they doing this?” He said.
Imad said that he was telling him about the rumor of the death of Muhammad Hussein Kassala, who was also in the Emirates, and at the same moment he discovered that he himself had been affected by the rumor of his death, which made him very sad.

Intimidate and study

The artist Saif Al-Jamaa, who was also affected by the rumor, believes that death rumors need to be studied, and death is not a shame and is not far from people, but this type of rumor terrifies loved ones and families, especially in the circumstances of accursed war.
“Social media is a blessing, and using it ignorantly makes it a curse.” He added.
“This is not an issue. Stay with your stupid trends, while our country has a fierce war that has destroyed the people’s dreams. We are normal people, we die once or twice. Mahmoud Abdel Aziz Kabli Muhammad Al-Amin Zidane Ibrahim Abu Araki, and now Al-Halqi and Saif Al-Jamaa. The Almighty said (Surely, you are dead and they are dead). Death is a fact, but these rumors are harmful as they terrify the lovers and family, so stop it, take news only from trusted people, and focus on how to preserve what remains of our homeland.” He continued.
