SSMO in White Nile State seized more than a ton of expired foodstuffs, creams, and medicines in the cities of Kosti, Rabak, Kenana, and Al-Jazeera, Aba.
Director of the Sudanese Authority for Standardization and Metrology, White Nile State Branch, Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Quality Control and Consumer Protection in the state, Magdy Siddiq Al-Hajj, indicated that the seizure was made during the program for monitoring goods and services and consumer protection, which was implemented by the authority with its partners in the Supreme Committee for Quality Control and Consumer Protection in the state in its repeated campaigns that It took place in the period from the twenty-eighth of this May until the thirtieth of this month in a number of markets on the island of Aba, Kenana, Rabak, and the popular market, the Great Market in Kosti, indicating that the campaigns achieved their goals thanks to the combined efforts of all parties concerned with consumer protection, which aimed to raise awareness and educate consumers and merchants on the implications of consumer protection and quality control. He called on all merchants and manufacturers to adhere to the Sudanese standard specifications regarding requirements for display, storage, handling and packaging, stressing the continuation of unannounced inspection campaigns and the application of the slogan of quality and consumption for the sake of consumer safety and calibration of scales to control goods and protect the consumer.
