Sudanese Embassy in Manama Denies Restrictions on Sudanese Residency in Bahrain Hotels

The Sudanese Embassy in Bahrain has clarified that the number of visas issued to Sudanese nationals has decreased due to hotels being reluctant to provide guarantees for Sudanese visitors. This reluctance stems from instances where Sudanese nationals arrived in Bahrain with hotel guarantees but lacked sufficient funds to cover living and accommodation costs, exposing these hotels to legal liabilities.
The embassy denied widespread social media claims that Sudanese nationals are not allowed to stay in Bahrain hotels. It also denied any such directive from the Bahraini Passport, Nationality, and Residence Affairs.
In a press release, the Chargé d’Affaires of the Republic of Sudan in Bahrain stated that the Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed to the embassy that the circulated statement is false.
The embassy emphasized that Bahraini authorities are working to restore hotels’ confidence in Sudanese visitors, noting that the visa system relies on hotel guarantees. Coordination is ongoing between Bahraini authorities and the embassy to ensure smooth procedures for arriving visitors and to prevent congestion among those seeking to complete their visa procedures for entry into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The embassy highlighted the strong and distinguished relations between the two brotherly countries and commended the significant flexibility and facilities provided by Bahraini authorities to Sudanese nationals regarding obtaining entry visas following the outbreak of the war in Sudan.
