Nigerien President: We will spare no effort to return the looted Sudanese Properties that were brought to Niger

Head of the National Council for the Protection of the Nigerien Nation Gen.Abdul Rahman Chani, received at the presidential palace in the capital, Niamey, member of the Sovereignty Council (TSC) and Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the SAF Lt.Gen.Shams El-Din Kabashi.

The member of the TSC reviewed an update on the situation in Sudan and the practices and violations of the rebel terrorist militia and the countries supporting it.

The meeting discussed the common challenges in the region, represented by terrorism and organized crime, whose activity extends from the Sahel area to Sudan.

The two sides acknowledged the similarity of the challenges facing Sudan and the Sahel area and the need to coordinate positions at the level of regional and international organizations, particularly in the African continent, to address them.

President Chani explained that he is following what is running in Sudan with great attention and is pained by the violations to which the Sudanese are exposed, expressing his hope that Sudan will soon regain its stability and return strong, considering that this is in the interest of Niger and the Sahel countries.

Chani affirmed Niger’s readiness to cooperate with Sudan to confront the common challenges and targeting of the two countries.

He expressed his country’s thanks for the initiative presented by Sudan to open channels of communication and cooperation, and it was agreed that this would be done through the official bodies in the two countries.

The President of Niger stressed that he would spare no effort in working to return the looted properties that were brought into Niger, noting the formation of a mechanism to confine and stop vehicles entering Niger’s territory, and the Sudanese embassy in Niger will be notified of the matter.
