Sudan Establishes Financial and Monetary Partnerships with Russia

Sudanese Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning announced the conclusion of initial partnerships in financial and monetary fields, during the participation of the Minister, Dr. Jibril Ibrahim, in the St. Petersburg International Economic Conference held in Russia.
During the visit, the Minister discussed opportunities for cooperation between Sudanese and Russian financial institutions to enhance financial stability and support economic growth in Sudan, addition to discussing potential partnerships in the energy and mining sectors, taking advantage of the enormous wealth that Sudan abounds with.
The Minister of Finance, Dr. Jibril Ibrahim, returned to the country on Monday evening after participating in the St. Petersburg International Economic Conference held in Russia.
During the conference, the Minister held several important meetings with international institutions, particularly Russian ones, where it was agreed to establish economic partnerships between Sudan and Russia in several vital fields, addition to his speech in the conference sessions in which he spoke about the situation in Sudan and answered questions raised in the forum.
These partnerships come in light of the government’s trend towards enhancing cooperation with Russia in the coming period, in an effort to achieve sustainable development and develop the country’s economic infrastructure.
Jibril expressed his optimism on the conference’s results and the importance of these partnerships in supporting the Sudanese economy and achieving the desired development goals.
