Complaints about worn Sudanese Currency

Many citizens complained about the circulation of worn Sudanese banknotes that are not accepted in circulation.
Citizen Ahmed Amin said that he has been suffering from worn Sudanese currency of SDGs 200 and SDGs100 explaining in his statement to (Sudan Events ) that many shops and owners of public vehicles refuse to accept them, and thus he has a currency that has no value and considers it a loss for him.
Amin revealed that a bank – which he declined to name – did not accept replacing the worn currency, knowing that part of it had been received from the same bank when he was disbursing his father’s pension, indicating that the worn banknotes were missing one of the serial numbers or “some of the required data was almost erased.”
The Central Bank of Sudan CBS defines damaged paper currency as torn, old, incomplete, or partially amputated paper, torn into several parts, cut, or damaged by insects, or in a broader sense, the deformation that has affected it has caused its features to be distorted, or papers that have lost their cohesion due to frequent use and have become soft and worn.
The Central Bank of Sudan CBS affirmed that worn paper currency with full nominal value can be deposited into customers’ accounts or exchanged for customers with others that are valid for trading and then deposited in the branches of the Central Bank of Sudan CBS .
Some citizens have called on the CBS to direct banks not to issue worn banknotes to citizens.
