Sudan Events – Rehab Abdullah

Sudanese Ministry of Energy and Oil revealed that the electricity team was able to introduce the SVC system to the Sinkat transformer station to the national grid. The new system contributes to increasing the transmission of electrical energy from Atbara station to Port Sudan by about 25%, in addition to the role of the SVC system in stabilizing electrical networks.
It said in a statement, Friday, that the SVC system is one of the reconstruction and development projects in eastern Sudan, which stopped work in April 2023 after the war, with an effort that lasted for two weeks without stopping with purely national Sudanese expertise who continued working day and night and did not stop even for the Eid al-Adha holiday until the work was completed and crowned with success.
The ministry revealed that the engineers and technicians in electricity have completed the re-tightening of the wires that were damaged by the winds and caused a power outage in the city of Aroma and its villages and the city of Waqar and its surroundings, as the maintenance team in the transmission lines made tremendous efforts as they climbed the highest peaks of the towers for long and continuous hours in very high temperatures and winds exceeding 20 kilometers per hour.
Minister of Energy and Oil, Dr. Mohi El-Din Naeem Mohamed, appreciated the efforts of the electricity workers in all parts of Sudan as they work in the most difficult conditions in terms of security in war zones and in terms of nature and weather, particularly in the eastern regions of Sudan and the economic conditions that the country is going through in light of the war. They accomplished in harsh conditions and did not stop or surrender to the weakness of spare parts and equipment, but rather worked with what was available.
The Minister thanked the citizens of Aroma and its surroundings, the leaders, mayors and Nazirs from the Hadandawa and Nuba and the Beja youth for their support and solid stand with the maintenance team throughout the maintenance periods and honoring them until they were able to successfully complete their tasks.
