The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) submits a new vision at Jeddah Forum on next Thursday
Report – Sudan Events
Identical sources in Sudan said that the step to resume negotiations announced on Sunday, by (SAF) with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), will be launched, next Thursday in Jeddah, according to a new vision of the Saudi-American mediation and (SAF).
Talks with a new approach
Some media reports talked today about replacements amid the leadership of the American delegation participating in the negotiations, as it is likely that the American Ambassador, Daniel Rubinstein will take over the leadership of the delegation instead of the United States Ambassador to Khartoum, John Godfrey, provided that the negotiation process in the humanitarian file will take place starting from the results of the last round, concentrated on the evacuation of the militia forces from civilian properties, hospitals, and service facilities. This is followed by negotiations on the military file and the status of the rebel forces, before the two parties conclude their negotiations with the political file, which includes the status of Rapid Support in the post-war phase and whether it will be included in the political process in Sudan as a political party, discussing the seized funds and assets belonging to it and the possibility of facilitating part of them for political work and allocating the remainder to the compensation file.
Victories on the ground
(SAF) will begin the new first round in the city of Jeddah next Thursday after a major opening on the ground in the city of Omdurman, “the largest stronghold of the militia and the entrance to its first supply lines” following a major attack launched today, follwoing the visit of the Deputy Army Commander, Lieutenant General Shams al-Din Al-Kabbashi, Karari military district responsible for operations.
In response to invitations
The Sudanese army negotiating delegation left Jeddah last July to Khartoum in the last round of negotiations at that time. Since then, Sudan has suspended negotiations with the militia forces for not implementing what was agreed upon in the first rounds of the forum, amid successive African, Arab and European calls for the two parties to return to negotiations.
