Sovereign Pledges to secure Petroleum Materials for Summer season in Gezira Scheme

Member of the Sovereignty Council TSC and sponsor of the agricultural sector in Sudan, Lt. Gen.Eng. Ibrahim Jaber, was briefed on the overall situation in Gezira Scheme .
Jaber met with Governor of Gezira Scheme , Ibrahim Mustafa Ali, who provided a detailed explanation of the current status of the project, the agricultural situation, and the size of the areas that have been cultivated so far.
The Governor of Gezira Scheme also informed the Sovereignty Council TSC member of the immediate and urgent needs of the project, particularly in the field of irrigation.
The meeting emphasized the importance of securing petroleum materials to push forward land preparation operations and private sector mechanisms working in the scheme in the field of irrigation, and affirmed the need to address irrigation issues and the readiness and commitment of the Ministry of Finance to pay the dues of the owners of drilling machines to clear the canals and channels of silt and weeds.
Jaber expressed his appreciation to the workers and farmers in the project who carry the production picks to make the new agricultural season a success to secure food for the people of Sudan.
