Sudan Events – Follow-ups

At the conclusion of the Egyptian Cultural Forum, a small Sudanese committee of intellectuals, interested people, and writers was formed and nominated to continue the activities of the Egyptian Forum by allocating a day each month to present and discuss the events and activities of the various Sudanese cultures, including plastic arts, music, drama, literature, and poetry.

The Egyptian Cultural Forum had launched its first session on “Sudanese Culture, Arts, Literature and Heritage” at its headquarters in the Garden City neighborhood in central Cairo, where it presented activities on musical diversity in Sudan amid a large presence of those interested in music, art and media.
Speaking at the forum, musician Dr. Kamal Youssef, Professor of Music at the Faculty of Music and Drama, spoke about the impact of art and music between Egypt and Sudan and the history of the artistic relationship between them, while displaying some artistic musical models. Professor and lecturer Dr. Nizar Ghanem also spoke at Ahfad University for Girls in Omdurman, spoke about the necessity of scientific research and postgraduate studies of musical diversity in Sudan, with a good historical narrative about the relationship of art and music between Yemen, Egypt and Sudan, while presenting different models of arts and music.
It is noteworthy that the dialogue was moderated by Dr. Medhat Hammad, Secretary General of the Egyptian Cultural Forum.

The forum was attended by people of culture, media, arts and literature from Sudanese, Egyptians, Yemenis and Syrians, as well as music professors Danis Al-Aqib and Dr. Muhammad Adam Suleiman Tarnin Al-Aqib participated in the explanation in response to the two main discussants about musical diversity in Sudan, and the artist Badr al-Din Hamdi also spoke in a general speech about Sudanese art, while performing a song by the artist Muhammad Abdel-Wahab with which the audience interacted with joy and chanting.

The celebrant thanked those in charge of the Egyptian Cultural Forum for providing the opportunity to present the activities and events of the Sudanese community in Egypt.
