Banks Refuse to finance Farmers

Farmers in Gedarif state warned of the failure of the summer agricultural season, and attributed this to the fact that they have not received financing so far.
Farmers told (Sudan Events ) that so far there is no agricultural season except through the personal efforts of a number of farmers, and they affirmed that there is no financing at all from banks after the banks refused to grant financing, indicating that the Agricultural Bank began financing diesel but suddenly stopped and those who received fuel receipts, despite their small number, did not receive it because there is a dispute between the fuel depot and the Agricultural Bank, although the bank bought the fuel and began to clear its value at the price of the fuel station at that time, and thus whether the price increased or decreased, the agent was supposed to receive the fuel.
The farmers pointed out that the summer season is few days away and many of them have passed and the planting season is over, and they added, “From now on, we mourn the failure of the agricultural season,” and they affirmed that the season is a failure, pointing out that the price of diesel has now reached SDGs 528,000 per barrel instead of SDGs 395,000.
The farmers complained about the Gadarif government also imposing high fees on agricultural crops for the benefit of the popular exodus, and they considered it too much for the farmer, particularly since most farmers have abandoned agriculture due to the high fees, and they criticized the lack of interest of officials in the agricultural season.
