The Preparatory Committee for the resumption of the academic year 2023-2024 discussed in its meeting this morning at the Government Secretariat in Madani, headed by Dr. Kamal Al-Din Awad, Director General of the Ministry of Education and Minister-designate, Chairman of the Committee, discussed ways to resume studies in schools in their stages, and proposals to address the conditions of displaced people in schools and boarding houses, and teachers’ salaries from May to this October.

The meeting decided to form a committee to find alternative sites for the displaced, attract popular support, and coordinate with international and national civil society organizations to open schools.

The Minister of Finance, Economy and Manpower confirmed that the cost of the remaining teachers’ salaries is more than 21 billion pounds, revealing contacts with the Federal Ministry of Finance to pay teachers’ arrears, including Eid Al-Fitr and Eid Al-Adha grants.
