Government of North Darfur state announced the killing of at least 60 people and the injury of dozens as a result of the violent artillery shelling carried out by the Rapid Support Forces RSF militia in the city of El Fasher for the third consecutive day.
For three consecutive days, El Fasher has been subjected to a violent attack by the Rapid Support Forces RSF artillery and the use of drones, which has claimed the lives of large numbers of citizens and caused massive destruction to the infrastructure.
Governor of Darfur, Minni Arko Minawi, said on Monday that the Rapid Support Forces RSF decided to enter negotiations with the blood of innocents after bombing civilian gatherings in mosques and hospitals, particularly the Saudi hospital.
He added, “Today is one of the bloodiest days in El Fasher, with rockets brought by Abdel Rahim Daglo two days ago via El Geneina.”
A statement issued by the government of North Darfur state said that “during the past three days, more than 60 people were killed and more than 100 citizens were injured in El Fasher as a result of artillery shelling by the Rapid Support Forces RSF.”
It explained that what happened in the southern El Fasher market and livestock during the past two days is one of the largest human massacres committed by the rebel militia against unarmed civilians.
The statement accused the Rapid Support RSF Militia of deliberately targeting markets, residential neighborhoods and service facilities.
It called on national judicial institutions, addition to the World community, to play their role in protecting civilians and conducting a comprehensive investigation into the massacres committed by the Rapid Support RSF Militia.
The statement considered that the Rapid Support RSF targeting civilians with missiles and heavy artillery shells is an act that violates the laws of war, which emphasize the importance of protecting civilians during combat.
In addition, the El Fasher Resistance Committees Coordination reported that the Rapid Support RSF continued shelling for the third day on sites inside El Fasher city, targeting citizens’ homes, hospitals and shelters.
She explained that the crowded city was bombed in a few hours today with about 70 missiles, and that the coordination committee counted the victims during the past three days as about 43 children, addition to 13 women and nine men. Eyewitnesses told Sudan Tribune that the Saudi hospital was bombed for the eleventh time since the beginning of the confrontations, which resulted in deaths and injuries among patients and companions and the destruction of part of the medical facility.
