El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur state, witnessed fierce battles on Wednesday between the SAF and armed movements on one side and the Rapid Support RSF Militia on the other, in which aircraft, heavy artillery and drones were used.
According to eyewitnesses who spoke to “Sudan Tribune”, Wednesday’s battles are considered among the fiercest confrontations between the fighting parties in El Fasher since the outbreak of the battles last May.
The army’s aircraft launched a series of raids targeting the Rapid Support RSF sites east and north of El Fasher city, in an attempt to target heavy artillery and rocket launchers deployed by the Rapid Support RSF Militia around the city, which continued to attack various sites including the center of El Fasher, the Grand Market, the livestock market, and the SAF commandment .
In return, the Rapid Support RSF Militia renewed its successive and violent artillery shelling of the west of the city.
The Rapid Support Forces RSF resorted to using drones in El Fasher by launching a march targeting the Grand Market in the center of the city, to which the SAF responded with anti-aircraft fire.
Since the early hours of Wednesday morning, Al Fasher has witnessed heavy clashes between the two parties in the southern and eastern parts of the city.
