Killing of Policeman, two others injured in clash with Arms Smugglers in Gedarif

A policeman was killed and two others were injured on Wednesday, following clashes with a gang involved in human trafficking and arms smuggling to the Rapid Support Forces RSF in Gedarif state.

The Executive Director of Basunda Locality, Abu Al-Qasim Abdul Samad, said in press statements that “a policeman was killed and two others were injured while intercepting a gang involved in arms smuggling and human trafficking in the Badrak 16 area.”

He pointed out that the group coming from a neighboring country was carrying about five thousand Kalashnikov bullets, an RPG, about nine Kalashnikov weapons and a horn loaded on nine camels that were on their way to the Rapid Support Forces RSF.

He revealed the deployment of additional reinforcements and the intervention of specialized forces to pursue the gang members who fled after the clashes with them.
