Seeds from FAO to support Farmers to make the Late Summer Season a Success

Director General of Agriculture, Mohamed Mouss, explained that the targeted area for rain-fed agriculture this year amounted to a total of 80,000 acres, and the targeted area for irrigated agriculture was estimated at about 19,000 acres.

He indicated that this year’s season is supported by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), which brought corn seeds and Indian okra seeds to farmers.

He discussed in part how these seeds are distributed to farmers according to their geographical distribution in rain-fed agriculture areas.

He said that diesel is flowing naturally to farmers in coordination with the Economic Committee.

He revealed his administration’s plan to make this late summer season a success to help increase productivity, which helps achieve food security and self-sufficiency.
