Sovereign Directives to Review the Red Sea Coast Demarcation
Sudan Events – Follow-ups
Member of the Sovereignty Council and Assistant Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Engineer Naval Lieutenant General Ibrahim Jaber, directed the review of the Red Sea Coast demarcation and the determination of a unified accurate figure for the length of the Sudanese coast.
On Sunday, Jaber addressed the opening of the works of the workshop on the demarcation of the baseline and the establishment of a database for maritime areas and the maximization of Red Sea resources, organized by the National Border Commission.
He said that the workshop holds paramount importance as it addresses the issue of demarcating the baseline and preparing databases for maritime areas, and that the Continental Shelf Law, passed in 2018, will be the main focus of the discussion. He added that the outcomes of this workshop should provide a database that assists the government in directing indicators of the national economy.
He emphasized the importance of creating an effective website to strengthen the relationship with partners inside and outside the country and to provide information that enables investors to understand the actual resources of the country.
