Containment of Oil Fire on the Iran-Iraq Border

The Director General of Parviz Khan Customs in Kermanshah Province, western Iran, announced that the fire at the fuel truck station inside Iraq has been contained with the cooperation of Iranian firefighting teams. According to initial information obtained from the Iraqi side, 20 Iranian and Iraqi tankers burned, and several people were killed in the fire. Fire trucks were sent from the cities of Qasr Shirin, Sarpol-e Zahab, and Gilan-e Gharb to the Iraqi side of the Parviz Khan border. Thanks to intense efforts, the fire was contained. The fire started at 5 PM on Monday, and after one of the trucks exploded, the fire spread to several other trucks. The area opposite the Parviz Khan border in Iraq was evacuated to prevent the fire from spreading to the Iranian border area and to prevent other trucks from burning. About 2,000 trucks for exports, transit, and fuel enter the Parviz Khan border crossing daily, which is the most important crossing for fuel exports and transit in the country.
