Intense Battles Between Army and Militia in Khartoum

Sudan Events – Follow-ups

Multiple sources confirmed the outbreak of fierce clashes on Monday between the Sudanese army and the RSF militia in Khartoum and the East Nile area, east of the capital.

Sounds of heavy fighting were heard in the East Nile neighborhoods as both sides used heavy and light weapons, accompanied by consecutive explosions and columns of smoke rising from several locations.

The army launched attacks from the Hatab operations base in East Nile on RSF positions in Khartoum North, while field sources indicated that clashes erupted between the two sides in the Samrab area, north of Bahri.

According to Al-Ghad channel, the sounds of heavy artillery fired by the RSF could be heard from southern Khartoum toward the Sudanese army’s positions in Omdurman. The army retaliated by shelling RSF positions near the Sports City and Jabrah in southern Khartoum, resulting in rising columns of smoke.

It is worth noting that clashes between the Sudanese army and the RSF resumed on Sunday in Khartoum and Omdurman.

The RSF militia targeted army positions with rocket-propelled grenades in Omdurman, while the army responded with similar shelling on RSF positions in southern Khartoum.
