Mass Kitchens in Al-Azhari Halt Operations

Sudan Events – Reports
On Sunday, the South Belt Emergency Room announced the cessation of all kitchens in the Al-Azhari sector of the South Belt area in Khartoum from providing free meals through community kitchens, popularly known as “Takayas,” due to the lack of financial resources and the depletion of food supplies from the emergency room’s warehouses.
The emergency room posted on its Facebook platform that the shutdown of “Takayas” threatens the lives of thousands of local residents who heavily depend on these free meals. The room called on national and regional organizations and philanthropists to urgently intervene to save the lives of thousands of innocent people trapped by hunger, disease, and deteriorating services.
