Expected Decline in Sorghum Prices

Sudan Events – Reports
Sudan’s Rainfed Farmers Union Vice President, Ghareeg Kambal, stated that the agricultural season is progressing well, with all crops planted successfully at a 100% rate. He cited large-scale planting in Gedaref State, which is sufficient to secure Sudan’s food supply. He denied the risk of famine in the country, as signs of production are already evident.
In an interview with *Al-Ahdath*, Kambal predicted that sorghum prices would drop below 100,000 SDG per sack by the end of September and early October, with the arrival of new production. He urged those warning of famine to refrain from such claims, affirming Sudan’s ability to secure its food supply.
