Energy Minister: Decline in Oil Production and Consumption

Sudan Events – Agencies
The Minister of Energy and Oil, Mohyiddin Naeem Mohamed Said, acknowledged the decline in Sudan’s oil production to around 18,000 barrels per day, compared to 38,000 barrels per day in March 2023 and 44,000 barrels per day in January 2023. He attributed this decrease to the shutdown of the refinery due to militia activity.
Fuel consumption has also dropped by 50%, with the country now consuming about 1.2 million tons annually, down from 6 million tons.
