Khartoum Governor: Development Projects Should Not Stop Due to the War

Sudan Events – Follow-ups
Khartoum Governor Ahmed Othman Hamza stressed that vital projects that contribute to the stability of citizens should not be halted during the war, particularly in safe areas. The governor called for mobilizing all efforts to complete the electricity project for the Fath area in Karari locality.
This was discussed during a meeting held on Tuesday with representatives from Fath Blocks, electricity committees, the executive director of Karari locality Ahmed Al-Mustafa Ali, the economic sector head of Khartoum State Security Authority, Brigadier-General Mohamed Mousa, and the administration of Omdurman and Karari Electricity. The meeting confirmed that the project will resume from where it left off, and a mechanism was appointed to monitor progress and address any obstacles, with daily performance reports to be submitted.
The Fath Electricity Project was implemented through microfinance, covering three components: high voltage lines, switches, and internal networks. High voltage lines have been installed in all targeted blocks (30 in total), with work completed in 19 blocks and ongoing in 3.
